The world’s best foam surfboard blanks are now available in the United States!

A proprietary blend of chemicals and a manufacturing process created by CORE Industries owners Dylan Johnson and Elliott Bemrose is making a noticeable difference in performance to shapers in Australia.

Since the closing of Clark Foam in 2005, many surfboard brands have used a number of different foam blanks interchangeably in board production. Today, even the biggest surfboard brands may use different raw foam blanks to make the exact same model of board. In many cases, board manufactures do not specify which brand of raw blank was used to make the board.

However, surfboard retailers and surfboard riders alike are noticing differences that CORE blanks make in a finished product. Retailers have noticed that surfboards stay whiter and brighter longer when CORE foam is used to make the board. In fact, boards made from CORE blanks have been requested specifically at retail because the boards look whiter and newer longer. Surfboard riders benefit from an outstanding strength to weight ratio and an extremely dense cell structure that is made possible thanks to proprietary technology. Advanced technology in the raw foam helps make boards produced with CORE blanks more durable and more responsive.

After 5 years of development and distribution that has focused on Australian surfboard manufacturers until now, CORE Industries has finally brought their first container of blanks to the United States. Although the blanks are more expensive than many of their competitors’ products, CORE blanks are expected to be used by a growing number of the premium surfboard companies either as stock foam or as a premium upgrade foam.

CORE Industries has chosen Stone Steps Manufacturing (SSM) to be the hub for their inventory in the United States. CORE plans to stay ahead of demand by taking pre-orders for foam blanks through SSM.
